Power Plant Troubleshooting. Table 4-2 contains troubleshooting information for locating and
correcting operating troubles which may develop in components unique to the power pIant end item.
Each malfunction is followed by a list of tests or inspections which will help determine probable cause
and corrective actions to take. Perform the tests/inspections and corrective actions in the order
listed. This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor all tests or inspections and
corrective actions. If a malfunction is not listed or cannot be corrected by listed corrective actions,
notify your supervisor.

1. POWER IS ABSENT AT SWITCH BOX LOAD TERMINAL(S) WHEN ONE GENERATOR SET IS
OPERATING.
Check that generator set circuit breaker is set to ON position.
Step 1.
If circuit breaker is in OFF position, set to ON position.
Check for power output at generator set load terminals.
Step 2.
If power is absent at generator set load terminals, troubleshoot
generator set. (Refer to TM 5-6115-585-12).
Inspect power cable connections inside switch box for looseness or broken wire

Tighten loose connections. If any wire terminals are broken, replace
cable (paragraph 4-25, d.) or refer to higher level of maintenance for
repair.
