Do not inch printing press and wipe cylinders at the same time. Return printing press to SAFETY STOP after each inching. Failure to do so may result in serious  injury. CLEANING SOLVENT. Lithographic solvent is toxic  and  flammable.  Wear  protective  goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes and don’t breathe vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat. If you become dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air immediately and get medical aid. If contact with eyes is made, wash your eyes with water  and  get  medical  aid  immediately. Inspect bearers for buildup of gum residue. Use damp rag to soften gum residue. Use rag and lithographic solvent (appendix C, item 5) to clean bearers. Wipe dry with clean rag. Apply thin coat of oil (appendix C, item 3) for rust protection. Inspect  journals,  bearings,  couplings  and  pivots for rust due to water solution splash. Wipe with clean rag and apply thin coat of oil (appendix C, item 3). If pivot is frozen, remove and clean (para. 2-38). Lubricate bearing at grease point (1). (appendix C, item 1) 2-4
