Tow winch is a two-speed, planetary-geared unit with an internal automatic brake. Winch is hydraulically powered and has a capacity of 60,000 lb (27,240 kg) with l-in. (2.5 cm) wire rope. BOOM, WINCH, AND CAB CONTROLS. These controls allow the operator to raise and lower boom, traverse cab, and operate boom and tow winches. BOOM WINCH. Boom winch is a two- speed, planetary-geared unit with an inter- nal automatic brake. Winch is hydraulically powered and has a capacity of 30,000 lb (13,620 kg) with 5/8-in. (1.6 cm) wire rope and two-part line. 4 5 6 HYDRAULIC OIL RESERVOIR. Hydraulic oil reservoir provides reserve capacity and in- sures a steady supply of hydraulic oil to pumps. RADIO AND INTERCOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT. This equipment allows the crew to maintain communication with driver and outside command posts. GAS-PARTICULATE FILTER UNIT. This filter unit provides protection for the crew against toxic gases (except carbon monox- ide) and extremely dusty conditions. 1-11
