Power Cable Extension

TM 10-1670-296-20&P 0002 00 0002 00-22 Power Cable Extension. The power cable extension is used to connect the aircraft power to the control box. The 20-foot long power cable extension provides aircraft 28 VDC power to the control box. The 20- foot cable is for the C-17 only; the 1-foot cable is for the C-5 only. FXC P/N 811-00490 J12 TO POWER CABLE P12 TO AIRCRAFT POWER Power Cable Adapter. The C-5 aircraft uses the basic EPJS equipment. However, the standard 20-foot power cable must be adapted to plug into the 28 VDC iron long power outlet in the aircraft. The power cable adapter performs this function. The power cable adapter connects between the 20-foot power cable and the 28 VDC iron long power outlet. FXC P/N 811-00495 J12 TO POWER CABLE P12 TO AIRCRAFT POWER Safety Cap. The safety cap is used to prevent accidental firing of the squib. When plugged into the squib cable, which is in turn plugged into the squib, the squib contacts are shorted together, thus preventing any electrical charge from being applied to the squib. When not in use, the safety cap is stored by installing in the side of the EPJD.
