ARMY TM 10-1670-276-23&P AIR FORCE T.O. 13C5-29-2 NAVY NAVAIR 13-1-29 (b)   Agitate the container contents by hand for 5 minutes. (c)   Remove the parachute assembly from the container and suspend or elevate It In a shaded area, allowing a 5-minute drainage period Do not attempt to wring the fabric or the suspension lines. (d)   Repeat the procedures In steps (a) through (c) above, twice, using fresh, clean water for each rinse (e)   After the third rinse, allow the parachute assembly to drain thoroughly Upon completion of draining, dry the assembly in accordance with procedures in c , above. (f) When dried, perform a technicallrigger-type inspection of the parachute assembly Corroded metal components, or corrosion-stained fabrics or suspension lines, will be either repaired or replaced as prescribed by the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) In Appendix B. (g)   Record any repairs, Immersion and rinsing In the NOTES page of the parachute log record (figure 2-6). (2) Uncontaminated fresh water. If air delivery equipment has been Immersed In uncontaminated fresh water, item(s) will be cleaned and dried as outlined In this paragraph. Minor discoloration of fabric items resulting from Immersion in uncontaminated fresh water may occur .No attempt should be made to eliminate a minor discoloration as a slight discoloring Is preferable to employing vigorous techniques that may damage fabric. Small stains caused by petroleum products or blood will be removed using spot-cleaning procedures In a, or b , above. 2-17
