(b)  Breakaway static line. 1  Using a 2-1/2 inch length of pressure sensitive tape, make 1-1/2 turns through static line small loop and around small loop end (B, figure 2-19). 2  Cut an 18 inch length of type III nylon cord and remove core threads. 3  Pass one end of cord length through riser clevis body and pull through until center of cord in reached. 4  Working from opposite directions, pass each end of cord through static line small loop.  Pull cord ends to form a 4-inch loop. 5  Secure cord ends around static line small loop with a surgeon's knot and locking knot.  Make an overhand knot in each cord running end.  Trim ends 2 inches from knots (B, figure 2-19). 2-34
