After  you  have  determined  the  correct  vertical angulation for the area to be radiographed, adjust the tube head using the angle dial on the tube head as a reference. structures.  A  patient  may  have  an  unusually  high maxillary vault or an unusually deep palatal vault. In either case, you would decrease the standard vertical angulation by about 5°. On the other hand, for a patient with an unusually shallow vault, you would increase the angulation by about 5°.
