GENERAL. a. This section provides information for identifying and correcting malfunctions that may develop while operating your trailer. b. The Malfunction Index in paragraph 3-3 lists common malfunctions that may occur and also refers you to the proper page in Table 3-1 for a troubleshooting procedure. c. If  you  are  unsure  of  an  item  mentioned,  refer  to  paragraph  1-8  or  the  maintenance  task  where  the  item  is replaced. d. Before  performing  a  troubleshooting  procedure,  read  and  follow  all  safety  instructions  found  in  the  Warning pages at the front of this manual. e. This  section  cannot  list  all  malfunctions  that  may  occur  or  all  tests,  inspections,  and  corrective  actions.  If  a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify Unit maintenance. f. When troubleshooting a malfunction: (1)   Locate the malfunction in the Malfunction Index in paragraph 3-3 that best describes the malfunction. (2)   Turn to the page in Table 3-1 where the troubleshooting procedure for the malfunction in question is described. Headings at the top of each page show how each troubleshooting procedure is organized: Malfunction, Test or Inspection (in step number order), and Corrective Action. (3)   Perform each Test or Inspection step in the order listed until the malfunction is corrected. Do not perform any maintenance task unless the troubleshooting procedure tells you to do so. 3-1
