Cleaning.
(a)
Remove soot from pipe sections.
(b)
Wash exterior of smokestack with brush and hot water.
(c)
Dry sections of smokestack thoroughly. Do not apply paint to smokestack.
NOTE
Under most climatic conditions It Is not cost effective to paint smokestack.
However, In a humid or saltwater environment the smokestack may be painted
using heat resistant paint only If materials, equipment, and facilities are already
available. Do not requisition materials or equipment.

Replace sections as required.

Installation. Attach four 2-foot sections of smokestack together at the joints and attach bottom section to
the heater body.
