TM  55–2835-208-23P g. Unit   of   Measure   (U/M). Indicates   the   standard   of   the   basic   quanti- ty   of   the   listed   item   as   used   in   performing   the   actual   maintenance   function. This   measure   is   expressed   by   a   two-character   alphabetical   abbreviation   (e.g., ea.,   in,   pr,   etc). When   the   unit   of   measure   differs   from   the   unit   of   issue, the   lowest   unit   of   issue   or   issue   that   will   satisfy   the   required   units   of measure   will   be   requisitioned. h. Quantity   incorporated   in   Unit. Indicates   the   quantity   of   the   item used  in  the  breakout  shown  on  the  illustration  figure,  which  is  prepared  for  a functional   group,   subfunctional   group,   or   an   assembly. A  “V”  appearing  in this   column   in   lieu   of   a   quantity   indicates   that   no   specific   quantity   is applicable,   (e.g.,   shims,   spacers,   etc). 4. Special    Information. a. Detailed   manufacturing   instructions   for   items   source   coded   to   be manufactured   or   fabricated   are   found   in   TM   55-2835-208-23. Bulk   materials required   to   manufacture   items   are   listed   in   Bulk   Material   Group   of   this   manual. b. Detailed   assembly   instructions   for   items   source   coded   to   be   as- sembled   are   found   in   TM   55-2835-208-23. Assembly  components  are  listed  imme- diately  following  the  item  to  be  assembled. c. The   following   publications   pertain   to   the   APU   and   its   components: Publication   and   Short   Title TM  55-2835-208-23 Aviation   Unit   and   Intermediate   Maintenance,   APU DMWR  55-2835-209 Depot  Maintenance,  APU DMWR  55-2835-210 Depot   Maintenance,   Fuel   Control d. When   details   of   an   assembly   are   shown   on   another   text   page,   the description   of   that   assembly   is   followed   by   a   notation   stating   where   these details   can   be   located.   “Example: 161954-100,  Fuel  Control,  See  Figure  6  for Breakdown”.   The  parts  that  make  up  the  Fuel  Control  will  be  found  on  the  next text   listing   for   Figure   6. e. MS9388-XXX  preformed  packings  may  be  used  in  lieu  of  M83248/1-XXX preformed   packings   in   all   locations. MS9387-YY preformed packings may be used in   lieu   of   M83248/1-9YY   preformed   packings   in   all   locations. (The   letters “XXX”  and  “YY”  represent  the  dash  numbers  of  the  preformed  packings.) 5. How  to  Locate  Repair  Parts. a. When  National  Stock  Number  or  Part  Number  is  Unknown: ( 1 )    F i r s t. Using   the   table   of   contents,   determine   the   functional group   within   which   the   item   belongs. This   is   necessary   since   illustrations are   prepared   for   functional   groups,    and   listings   are   divided   into   the   same groups.
