TM 5-4320-304-14 TM    08922A-14/1 4-5.   INSPECTING   EQUIPMENT a.  Inspect  the  equipment  for  damage  incurred  during  shipment.  If  the  equipment  has  been  damaged, report  the  damage  on  (A)  DD  Form  6,  Packaging  Improvement  Report,  or  (MC)  MCO  4430.3. b.  Check  the  equipment  against  the  packing  slip  to  see  if  the  shipment  is  complete.  Report  all discrepancies  in  accordance  with  the  instructions  of  DA  PAM  738-750. c.  Check  to  see  whether  the  equipment  has  been  modified. 4-6.   SETUP   INSTRUCTIONS a.  Locate  unit  as  close  as  possible  to  the  water  to  be  pumped.  Keep  the  suction  hose  and  the amount  of  lift  as  short  as  possible. b.  The  operating  site  should  be  as  level  as  possible  (no  more  than  20  degrees  slope)  or  the  engine lubrication   system   may   not   work   properly. c.  Keep  the  suction  and  discharge  hoses  as  short  and  straight  as  possible. d.  Allow  adequate  space  to  permit  support  of  the  suction  and  discharge  hoses  where  they  enter the   pump. e.  Connect  the  suction  hose  to  hose  adapter  on  suction  (intake)  flange  (1).  Highest  point  in  the suction  hose  should  be  at  the  pump. f. g. 4-2 Connect  discharge  hose  to  hose  adapter  in  discharge  port  (2). Make  sure  that  connections  are  tight.
