Do not operate burner without top shield (2).
b. Removal.
(1) Unhook four springs (1) securing the top shield (2) to the burner unit (3).
(2) Remove top shield (2).
c. Cleaning. The top shield is provided with a protective coating. No abrasive compound or material can be
used. Wash in hot soapy water. Rinse in clean boiling water and wipe dry.
d. Replacement. To replace, fit shield over generator and burner units, and hook springs into the holes in shield.
4-9.2 GENERATOR.
a. General. This paragraph provides the replacement procedures for the generator. Refer to paragraph 3-4.1 for
removal, cleaning and repair procedures.
