The AN/UPM-155 is a microprocessor-based radar test set which is capable of testing Mark X

and Mark XII compatible Identification Friend or Foe equipment, including transponders and

interrogators. The AN/UPM-155 is capable of generating Mode 1, 2, 3/A, C, and 4 challenges.

Mode 4 challenges utilize an internally simulated cryptographic information transmitter (KIT) and

an internally simulated cryptographic information receiver (KIR) in an unsecured location.
