Blueprint Compositions, Continued Station numbers Station points or station markings are a location system for aircraft. Some manufacturers,  particularly  in  the  aircraft  industry,  use  station  points  to locate parts or assemblies.    The centerline at the center of the part or assembly is designated by a zero. Incrementally numbered ribs to the left and right of the centerline serve as station markings to locate details.    Station points appear on the actual drawing of the part or assembly.
