Prepress   Preparation,   Continued Format Format  is  the  general  appearance  of  the  formal  printed  product.  It  includes the  size,  shape,  look,  and  feel  of  the  finished  product.  Consider  the  physical limitations of your production equipment such as the presses, copy camera, plate size, screen limitations, and the finishing requirements of folding, binding,  and  trimming  before  setting  a  format.  The  maximum  dimensions  of a product are set by the size of the stock available, size of the presses, and the capacity of the bindery equipment.
