DOE-HDBK-1016/1-93 ELECTRICAL DIAGRAMS AND SCHEMATICS Electrical Diagrams and Schematics When  fuses,  breakers,  or  switches  are  used  in  three-phase  systems,  the  three-phase  symbol combines the single-phase symbol in triplicate as shown in Figure 6.   Also shown is the symbol for a removable breaker, which is a standard breaker symbol placed between a set of chevrons. The  chevrons  represent  the  point  at  which  the  breaker  disconnects  from  the  circuit  when removed.
