Adjustment NOTE The regulator can be removed from the helmet or left in place on the helmet during adjustment. For maximum regulator performance, allow the regulator to sit for 24 hours with the dial-a-breath knob (4) screwed in before adjusting. This will allow the rubber in the inlet valve stem (5) to take a set against the inlet nipple (13). If this is not possible, then adjust the lever (10) to favor the looser limit of 1/8 inch so as to compensate for the inward travel of the stem (5) after the valve (1 2) rubber has compressed. All regulator parts should be free of damage and dirt. All rubber components should be in excellent condition. All internal parts should be lubricated with silicone lubricant.
