ARMY TM 9-6115-604-12 NAVY NAVFAC P-8-633-12 CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION SECTION I.  GENERAL 1-1. SCOPE.  This manual is for your use in operating and maintaining the Model MEP208A 750 kilowatt (kW) diesel engine-driven generator set.  This manual also contains operation and maintenance instructions for the remote control module (RCM). 1-2. LIMITED APPLICABILITY.  Some portions of this publication are not applicable to all services.  These portions are prefixed  to.    Indicate  the  services  to  which  they  pertain  (A)  for  Army  and  (N)  for  Navy.    Portions  not  prefixed  are applicable to all services. 1-3. MAINTENANCE FORMS AND RECORDS.  The forms and records used for maintenance purposes by the various services are specified as follows: a. (A)   Maintenance   forms   and   records   used   by   Army   personnel   are   prescribed   by   DA   PAM   738-750, supplemented by FESA PAM 700-2. b. (N) Navy users should refer to their service peculiar directives to determine applicable maintenance forms and records to be used. 1-4. REPORTING  OF  ERRORS.    Reporting  of  errors,  omissions,  and  recommendations  for  improvement  of  this publication by the individual user Is encouraged.  Reports should be submitted as follows: a. (A) Army-DA Form 2028 or DA Form 2028-2 located in the back of this manual direct to Commander, U. S. Army Aviation and Troop Command, ATTN  AMSAT-I-MP, 4300 Goodfellow Boulevard, St. Louis, MO  63120-1798. b. (N) Navy-by letter directly to.  Commanding Officer, U S Navy, Ships Parts Control Center, ATTN: Code 783, Mechanicsburg, PA 17066. 1-5. LEVELS  OF  MAINTENANCE  ACCOMPLISHMENT.    The  authorized  maintenance  and  repair  functions  will  be accomplished as follows: a. (A) Army users shall refer to the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) for tasks and levels of maintenance to be performed. b. (N) Navy users shall determine their maintenance levels in accordance with their services directives. 1-6. (A) DESTRUCTION OF ARMY MATERIEL.   Destruction of materiel to prevent enemy use will be in accordance with the requirements of TM 750-244-3 (Procedures For Destruction of Equipment to Prevent Enemy Use). 1-7. (A)  ADMINISTRATIVE  STORAGE.    Detailed  information  pertaining  to  administrative  storage  for  the  various service is contained In the following documents:  Administrative Storage, TM 740-90-1, is applicable to Army personnel; Processing and Inspection of Aerospace Ground Equipment for Storage and Shipment. 1-8. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT AND STORAGE.  The requirements pertaining to the preparation for shipment and storage for the following documents. a. (A) Army-Refer to TB 740-97-2, TM 740-90-1, and TM 43-0156. b. (N) Navy refer to individual service directives for requirements. 1-1
