Figure 2-2. Installation Plan

ARMY TM 9-6115-464-12 AIR FORCE TO 35C2-3-445-1 NAVY NAVFAC P-8-624-12 (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) Remove driving stud and install another section of ground rod, making sure that it seats on first section. Install another coupling and driving stud. Drive the ground rod until the new coupling is just above ground surface. Use a minimum of three sections of 3 foot length ground rods. Add aditional sections until ground rod has been driven suficiently deep to provide effective ground. Remove  driving  stud  and  top  coupling. Connect clamp and ground cable to ground rod and securely tighten screw. e. Load  Connection. (1) (2) (3) (4) Lethal voltages are present et the load connection board of the generator set during operation. Do not attempt to connect or disconnect load leads while  the  generator  set  Is  operating.  Do  not  attempt  to  connect  or  discon- nect load leads with the generator set shutdown and the load connected to another power source or while the generator set is parallel to another which is  operating. Open the left access door to the generator compartment and remove the safety cover from the load ter- minal board (Figure 1-5). Insert load leads through plate and sleeve assembly (Figure 1-5) located to the left of the generator set air intake. A 208 or 416 Vac three phase load may be connected between terminals marked L1, L2, L3, and L0  (Figure  2-4). NOTE The load terminals will accommodate 2-wire single phase and 4-wire, 3 phase loads. One or more single phase loads can be served alone or in combinations with 3 phase loads; but the load on any one phase must not exceed 100 percent of the current rating of that phase. Phase rotation for three phase loads is L1, L2, L3. NOTE After load connection, tighten binding nuts with plastic/phenolic box end wrench and install safety cover. Refer to paragraph 2-5 and check that the reconnection board is set for proper voltage. f. Auxiliaty Fuel Source Connection. (1) Connect the auxiliary fuel line to the generator set auxiliary fuel supply connection (Figure 1-5) located below the integral tank filler cap. (2) Connect the auxiliary fuel line to the auxiliary fuel source. (3) Position the fuel selector valve (Figure 1-5) in the AUXILIARY position. 2-6
