PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS) 4-8. PMCS, GENERAL. To ensure that the Generator Set is ready for operation at all times, it must be inspected systematically so defects may be discovered and corrected before they result in serious damage, failure or safety hazard. The necessary preventive maintenance checks and services that are to be performed by Organizational personnel are listed and described in the following paragraphs. Defects discovered during operation will be noted for future correction. Stop operation immediately if a deficiency is noted which would damage the equipment or present a safety hazard. All faults will be recorded together with the corrective actions taken on the applicable form. Air Force users shall refer to the applicable inspection manuals and work card sets in the TO 35C2-3-1-426 series for periodic requirements. Marine Corps users should refer to current issue of TM 4700-15/1. On ASK equipped generators, full or partial removal of ASK may be necessary to perform PMCS. 4 - 9 . D e t e r m i n i n g P M C S I n t e r v a l s . O r g a n i z a t i o n al PMCS on this unit should be performed on a - per h o u r s o f o p e r a t i o n - b a s i s . T h e r u n n i n g t i m e m e t er on the control panel should be used to determine the Generator Set operating time. 4-10. PMCS for Units in Continuous Operation. For P M C S p e r f o r m e d o n a n o p e r a t i n g t i m e b a s i s , p e r - form PMCS as close as possible to the time intervals indicated. For units in continuous operation, perform PMCS before starting operation if continuous opera- t i o n w i l l e x t e n d s e r v i c e i n t e r v a l p a s t t h a t w h i c h is shown. 4-11. (A.
