Batteries prepared for a tropical climate will
have a 1 in. (25 mm) diameter white spot
painted on battery top.
·
Full charge is 1.225 specific gravity for
tropical batteries and 1.280 specific gravity
for all others.
(3) Record specific gravity of each
cell.
(4) Test alternator output (para 7-2) if
specific gravity is below 1.180 for
tropical batteries and 1.225 for all
others.
c. Remove batteries (1) from battery box
(2) (para 7-57). Replace battery if
specific gravity is below 1.180 for
tropical batteries and 1.225 for all
others
d. Check battery box (2) for cracks and
debris. Clean battery box (para 2-17).
If damaged, replace battery box
(para 7-57).
