TM 5-3805-264-14&P 2-10. DUMPING LOAD (Con’t). (3) Secure   mud   flaps   (1)   out   of way  on  hooks  (2)  when  stockpiling  or  when  dumping into a spreader. Adjustment  chains  are  intended  for  use only  during  spreading  operations.  If  used when stockpiling, damage to chains or tail- gate may result. (4) Adjust   tailgate opening if required (paragraph 2-11). (5) Uncover  load  (paragraph  2-14). (6) Start  engine  (TM  9-2320-363- 10). (7) Place main light switch (6) is in SER DRIVE or STOP LIGHT position (TM 9-2320-363- 10). (8) Engage PTO (TM 9-2320-363- 10). (9) Check that body (transport) lock indicator light (4) is not lit. NEVER unlock tailgate or operate MCS gates, or operate hydraulic control lever in cab without first ensuring that all personnel are clear of dump body. Failure to fol- low this warning may result in injury to personnel. Ensure that tailgate latches are fully opened before raising dump body. Failure to follow this caution could result in damage to equipment. 2-28
