This manual provides operating and unit maintenance instructions, including
repair parts for the Basic Generating Unit (BGU) of the Battlefield
Electronic CEOI System (BECS).
The BGU consists of a Hewlett-Packard (HP) 110
Portable-Plus computer, a HP 2225B ThinkJet printer, and a HP 9114B disc drive.
These devices are used with a BECS Program disc, and other data discs to create
and distribute information.
This manual is designed to be used with the BGU. You should become familiar
with the PORTABLE PLUS OWNER’S DOCUMENTATION binder included with each
computer and then read this User’s Guide before attempting to use the BGU.
Keep in mind this User’s Guide is a manual for the BECS Program disc and
contains only the essential information about the use of the software.
CONSOLIDATED INDEX OF ARMY PUBLICATIONS AND BLANK FORMS
Refer to the latest issue of DA Pam 25-30 to determine whether there are new
editions, changes, or additional publications pertaining to the equipment.

Reports of Maintenance and Unsatisfactory Equipment.
Department of
the Army forms and procedures used for equipment maintenance will be those
prescribed by DA PAM 738-750, as contained in Maintenance Management Update.
