BGU will generate and load frequency hopping information for radios and the Transmission Security (TRANSEC) Key (TSK) for ECCM protection. The BGU is intended to be more responsive to rapidly changing and highly mobile battlefield conditions as an integral subsystem of SINCGARS, High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF) AM/FM, and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio systems. CAPABILITIES AND FEATURES The BGU is able to electronically transfer and receive data from another BGU or DTD . The BGU os also capable of generating, processing, displaying, printing, and storing SOI/CEOI information (e.g., net descriptions, call signs, frequencies (including al 1 four bands: HF, VHF-AM, VHF-FM, UHF), suffixes and expanders, sign/countersign, smoke and pyrotechnics), and frequency hopping information for SINCGARS and other radio system (e.g., Net IDs Manual frequencies, CUE frequencies, and hopset information), and electronic transfer of information and loading of ECCM fill devices, DTDs, and frequency hopping radios. The BGU will also generate, store, and distribute the TRANSEC Keys. The BECS will generate current single channel CEOI and provide password protection.
