TM   5-5420-226-20-1 SYSTEMS  OPERATION  -  Continued BRAKE   SYSTEM.   Consists   of   brake locking   arrangement   for   parking. control   pedal   connected   to   hydraulic   brake   and   mechanical ADJUSTMENT. Brake   adjusting   worm   on   transmission   end   covers   is   used   when   linkages have  been  disturbed. Adjusting  brakes  is  done  by  bleeding  hydraulic  system  at  master cylinders   and   slave   cylinders,   or   by   adjusting   braking   controls   and   linkages   on   transmission. HYDRAULIC    SYSTEM. Brake   pedal   mechanically   linked   to   master   cylinder   forces hydraulic  fluid  through  lines  to  two  hydraulic  slave  cylinders  on  transmission  that  apply force  to  brake  levers  attached  to  brake  apply  shafts  on  transmission. PARKING  BRAKE  SYSTEM.  Lever  and  cam  attached  to  shifting  pedestal  actuates  cable  to transmission  fittings  which  lock  brake  levers  by  means  of  ratchet  mechanism  when  shifting lever  is  moved  into  park  (P)  position.
