TM 10-8400-201-23 CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Section I GENERAL 1-1.  SCOPE This manual provides standards for the classification and repair of clothing.  Each type of equipment is covered separately by a single chapter. 1-2.  MAINTENANCE FORMS AND RECORDS DA Forms and records used for the equipment maintenance will be only those prescribed in DA PAM 738-750. 1-3.  DESTRUCTION OF ARMY MATERIEL TO PREVENT ENEMY USE Demolition to prevent enemy use will be in compliance with instructions outlined in TM 750-244-3. 1-4.  ADMINISTRATIVE STORAGE Preparation, care, and removal of equipment In administrative storage will be in accordance with the following: a.    Placement  of  equipment  in  administrative  storage  should  be  for  short  periods  of  time  when  a  shortage  of maintenance  effort  exists.    Items  should  be  in  mission  readiness  within  24  hours  or  within  the  time  factors  as determined by the directing authority.  During the storage period appropriate maintenance records will be kept. b.      Before  placing  equipment  in  administrative  storage,  current  maintenance  services  and  equipment  serviceable criteria  (ESC)  evaluations  should  be  completed,  shortcomings  and  deficiencies  should  be  corrected,  and  all modification work orders (MWO's) should be applied. c.    Storage site selection.  Inside storage is preferred for items selected for administrative storage.  If inside storage is not available, trucks, vans, conex containers and other containers may be used 1-5.  REPORTING EQUIPMENT IMPROVEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS (EIR) EIRs will be prepared using a DA Form SF 368, (Quality Deficiency Report).  Instructions for preparing EIRs are provided in DA PAM 738-750, The Army Maintenance Management System.  ElRs should be mailed directly to Commander, U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command, ATTN: AMSAT-I-MDO, 4300 Goodfellow Boulevard, St.  Louis, I MO 63120-1798.
