TM  55-1520-240-23-1 1-14 SELF-RETAINING BOLTS  INSTALLATION (Continued) 1-14 4. Remove  impedance  bolts  as  follows: a. Remove  cotter pin  and  nut. b. Push  bolt  shank  in  removal  direction  until retaining  element  is  compressed.   Do  not hammer  on  bolt. c. Grasp  bolthead  and  pull  bolt out  of  parts. 5. Install  impedance  bolts  as  follows: NOTE No  lubricant  shall  be  applied  to  bolt shank  or  threads. a. When  a  washer  is required  under bolthead, place  washer on  bolt  shank. b. Push  bolt  thru  parts  until  retaining  element protrudes beyond  connected  parts. 1-19
