The Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) code is a 5-
position code containing supply/requisitioning information, maintenance category authorization criteria,
and disposition instruction, as shown in the following breakout:

individually. They must be made from bulk material which is iden-
t i f i e d b y t h e p a r t n u m b e r i n t h e D E S C R I P T I O N a n d U S A B L E ON
CODE (UOC) column and listed in the Bulk Material group of the
repair parts list in this RPSTL. If the item is authorized to you by
t h e 3 d p o s i t i o n c o d e o f t h e S M R c o d e , b u t t h e s o u r c e c o d e
indicates it is made at a higher level, order the item from the h i g h er
level of maintenance .
