TM 10-8415-208-12 Section II.  OPERATOR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS) 2-5. GENERAL.  Table 2-1 (Operator PMCS table) has been provided so you can keep your Self-Contained, Toxic Environment, Protective Outfit-Interim in good operating condition and ready for its primary mission. 2-5.1 Before You Operate.  Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS.  Perform your before operation (B), PMCS prior to the equipment leaving its containment area or performing its intended mission. 2-5.2 While You Operate.  Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS.  Perform your during operation (D), PMCS when the equipment is being used in its intended mission. 2-5.3 If Your Equipment Fails To Operate.  Turn it in to unit maintenance.  Report any deficiencies using the proper forms.  See DA PAM 738750. 2-6. OPERATOR PMCS PROCEDURES. a. The  Preventive  Maintenance  Checks  and  Services  table  lists  the  inspections  and  care  of  your  equipment required to keep it in good operating condition. b. Use the "Item No.  " column of the PMCS table to supply the item number used in the "TM Number" column of DA Form 2404. c. The interval column of the PMCS table tells you when to do a certain check or service. d. Perform the before operations PMCS if: (1) You are the assigned operator and have not operated the item since the last PMCS. (2) You are operating the item for the first time. e. The  item  to  be  inspected  column  of  the  PMCS  table  tells  you  the  piece  of  equipment  and  the  part  to  be inspected. f. The procedure column of the PMCS table tells you how to do the required checks and services.  Carefully follow these instructions. g. Equipment is not ready/available if:  column tells you when and why your equipment cannot be used. h. If  your  equipment  does  not  perform  as  required,  turn  it  in  to  unit  maintenance.    Report  any  malfunctions  or failures on DA Form 2404, or refer to DA PAM 738750. 2-7
