TM 10-8415-208-12 1-9.  LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR COMPONENTS.  (CONT) 1-9.2   Ice  Vest.    The  ice  vest  is  worn  under  the  encapsulating  protective  suit  with  the  rebreather  system  to  provide cooling capabilities to the operator.  Water, cooled by frozen gel packs or ice, is circulated through the ice vest by an 8- volt  battery  powered  centrifugal  pump.    The  pump  can  be  manually  activated  by  an  on/off  switch  and  cooling  can  be adjusted to a comfortable level by manually operating a regulating valve that controls the flow of chilled water through the vest.  The ice vest has adjustable straps so a comfortable fit can be achieved by all users.  A drain valve is provided to drain the ice vest after use.
