REPLACE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT HEATER BULKHEAD TO HEATER

HOSES (M577A2 ONLY) -- Continued
INSTALLATION
WARNING
Adhesive, primer, sealant compounds, and isopropyl alcohol are toxic and flammable. These
compounds are toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Continued exposure can make you
dizzy and irritate your eyes and throat.
Always use in well ventilated areas, away from heat, sparks, and flames. Do not breathe fumes.
Do not allow into contact with skin and eyes. Use goggles or face shield and protective gloves.
1.
Apply light coat of sealing compound to all external tapered threads. Do not apply sealant beyond small end of tapered
threads.
2.
Lower heater from mounts (WP 0633 00). Have helper support heater.
NOTE
Replacing a flareless fuel hose or tube assembly may also require new mating fittings such as
a tee, elbow, or adapter.
3.
Install nipple (9), elbow (8), and adapter (5) on heater.
4.
Install elbow (4) in power plant compartment bulkhead. Secure with jamnut (7).
5.
Install hose (3) on adapter (5).
6.
Install clamp (2) on hose (3). Secure to bulkhead with screw (1).
7.
Install clamp (10) on hose (3). Secure to heat shield with two new lockwashers (11), screw (12), and new locknut (13).
8.
Raise heater and secure to mounts (WP 0633 00). Have helper assist.
9.
Install hose (3) on elbow (4).
10. Install nipple (14) on hull. Secure with jamnut (15).
11. Install hose (6) on nipple (14) and elbow (4).
12. Secure hose (6) to hose (16) with two straps (17).
