Note

There are different types of hand held battery testers

available. Read tester instruction that are received

with the equipment.

1. Unit Maintenance Hand Held Tester. The hand held battery tester

assigned to unit level maintenance is a easy and quick way to check

your battery (ies) for the following: (see chapter 3)

a. State of Charge: quickly indicates battery's open circuit

voltage.

b. Battery load Test: The high current load simulates the

vehicle's cranking load and evaluates the battery's ability to

crank the vehicle.
