Be careful when working on the 115-volt ac input circuit. Use insulate d test probes

w h e n making voltage m e a s u r e m e n t s . When working inside the equipment, be ex-

tremely careful not to touch any internal parts while the battery charger is

energized. Disconnect the ac input cable before performing routing maintenance or

a t t e m p t i n g to remove any part. Some models of the PP-1660/G and PP-1660A/G

c o n t a i n selenium rectifiers. The failure of selenium rectifiers can result in the

l i b e r a t i o n of poisonous fumes and the deposit of poisonous selenium compounds.

W h e n a rectifier burns out or arcs over, the odor is strong. Provide maximum

ventilation immediately. AVOID INHALING THE FUMES. Do not touch the

damaged rectifier until it has cooled.
