If transfer case is not in NEUTRAL, vehicle will

attempt to move forward when gear shift lever is set

to DRIVE.

18. Set transmission gear shift lever to DRIVE (D).

19. Move speed control toggle switch to RUN.

20. Move speed control toggle switch to START and hold for about two seconds to

assure that transmission has shifted to third gear. Engine speed should

increase to 2000 RPM.

21. Release speed control toggle switch to RUN. Engine speed should drop to

1400 RPM.

22. Move speed control toggle switch to OFF.
