Static electricity is created by a high velocity flow of fluid through the pump and hose. For this reason, the
dispensing system must be properly grounded. If not, sparking may occur which can ignite fumes from
solvents, dust, or other flammable substances. Spark ignition of flammable materials can result in an
explosion and serious bodily injury. To prevent such hazards, ensure that the equipment is properly
grounded.
