APPENDIX C:
TOP AND BOTTOM BEAM AND HYDRAULIC LIFT
CYLINDER REMOVAL / INSTALLATION (Con't).
WARNING
·
Use extreme caution when lowering top and bottom beams and placing on the
ground. Ensure that lifting device is secure and all personnel stand clear. Failure
to follow this warning may cause serious injury to personnel or damage to beams
and positioning cylinders.
10. Remove two cotter pins (15), flatwashers (14), and clevis pins (13) from positioning
cylinders (2) and top beam (1). Discard cotter pins.
11. Lower top and bottom beams (1 and 3) to the ground and support on wooden blocks or
other cribbing.
12. With top beam (1) suitably supported, remove top beam with telescoping vertical tubes
from positioning cylinders (2) and bottom beam (3). Keep top beam with telescoping
tubes and bottom beam supported on wooden blocks.
