Wrapping. The items of the AS-1425/GRC are to be wrapped as outlined below.
(1)
Antenna. Wrap the antenna with filler material to cushion all surfaces. Use adhesive tape to hold the
filler material.
(2)
Waveguide components. Cushion all waveguide components with filler material and wrap in waterproof
barrier. Secure the wrapping with adhesive tape.
(3)
Miscellaneous accessories. Wind guys in convenient size rolls and tie with cotton twine.
c. Packaging
(1)
Pack the waveguide components and hanger assemblies into corrugated cardboard boxes and secure
with waterproof tape.
(2)
Pack all other parts in a wooden box (in a sequence similar to that shown in figure 2-1). Be sure that the
box is properly packed with filler material to prevent equipment movement while shipping. Nail the box closed, then
apply steel strapping.
