REFERENCE
STARTING APU – PILOT (CONT)
a. APU control switch – Set to run
position. Verify APU FAIL C/W
segment illuminates. Complete
priming, initiate start, then to run.
CAUTION
The APU 95% cold start switch should
not be used when the ambient tempera-
ture is above 0 °F (–18 °C) because this
significantly increases component wear
and may cause premature component
failure.
b. 95% switch – Hold to 95% position
as required.
c. Hydraulic system gages – Verify
3000 PSI indicated after PTO clutch
engagement.
d. Caution/warning panel – Verify PRI
HYD PSI, UTIL HYD PSI, OIL PSI
ACC PUMP and APU FAIL
segments extinguished; SHAFT
DRIVEN COMP and APU ON
segments illuminated.
AFTER STARTING APU
WARNING
To prevent injury to personnel, ensure
pylons are clear prior to performing the
generator system check.
