TM 1-1520-238-23 Change 4 11-78.1 11.11. LATERAL BELLCRANK AND LATERAL LINKS INSTALLATION – continued WARNING FLIGHT SAFETY PART ·Heat treated condition of bolt is crit- ical to its serviceability. Any indica- tion of heat oxidizing (discoloration),  where  visually  de- tectable,  requires  replacement  of the  part.  This  part  must  be  pro- tected  from  unscheduled  heating and external impact during inspec- tion  and  other  handling  proce- dures. ·To  prevent  injury  to  personnel  or damage to equipment, two persons are required for lifting and position- ing the lateral bellcrank. If injury oc- curs, seek medical aid. CAUTION Threads  of  bolt  and  nut  shall  be  clean and   compound   free.  Contaminated threads  can  cause  improper  torque, which may cause damage to flight control system. b.   Install bellcrank (2) on collective bellcrank (9). Torque nut (10) 300 to 400 INCH-POUNDS. (1)   Aline bellcrank (2) with bellcrank (9). (2)   Apply  a  light  coat  of  corrosion  preventive compound   to   shank   of   bolt   (11).   Use corrosion  preventive  compound  (item 62A, App F). (3)   Install  bolt  (11)  through  nylon  washer  (12) and bellcranks (2) and (9) while pressing but- ton (13). GO TO NEXT PAGE 11 12 2 9 M04-1716-6A 13
