LATERAL BELLCRANK AND LATERAL LINKS REMOVAL – continued WARNING FLIGHT SAFETY PART ·Heat  treated  condition  of  lateral bellcrank and lateral links is critical to  their  serviceability.  Any  indica- tion  of  heat  oxidizing  (discolor- ation),  where  visually  detectable, requires  replacement  of  the  part. These parts must be protected from unscheduled  heating  and  external impact during inspection and other handling procedures. ·To  prevent  injury  to  personnel  or damage to equipment, two persons are  required  for  lifting  and  remov- ing the lateral bellcrank. If injury oc- curs, seek medical aid. g.   Remove bellcrank (11). h.   Remove link (4) from bellcrank (11). (1)   Remove  sealant  from  attaching  hardware (para 1.47). (2)   Remove and discard cotter pin (34). (3)   Hold  bolt  (35).  Remove  nut  (36).  Use  open end wrench and socket. (4)   Remove bolt (35), washers (37) (if installed), bushing (38), and limiter (39). GO TO NEXT PAGE M04-1715-9 35 37 38 39 4 34 36 11
