TM 1-1520-238-23 11-68 Change 6 11.9. LONGITUDINAL AND COLLECTIVE BELLCRANKS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued CAUTION ·To  prevent  damage  to  self-retaining bolts, press retention device fully down when installing bolt. ·Threads of bolt and nut shall be clean and  compound  free.  Contaminated threads  can  cause  improper  torque, which  may  cause  damage  to  flight control system. NOTE The  maximum  thickness  for  washer stackup is 0.064 INCH for this bellcrank pivot point. b.   Install bellcranks (1) and (2) on supports (3) and (9). Torque two nuts (6) and (12) 175 to 200 FOOT-POUNDS. (1)   Install  washer  (16)  between  bellcranks  (1) and (2) on right support (9). (2)   Apply  a  light  coat  of  corrosion  preventive compound to shank of bolts (5) and (11). Use corrosion  preventive  compound  (item 62A, App F). (3)   Install  bolt  (11)  through  washer  (15),  bell- crank (1), washer (16), bellcrank (2), and sup- port (9). (4)   Install  bolt  (5)  through  washer  (15),  bell- cranks (1) and (2), and left support (3). (5)   Hold two bolts (5) and (11). (6)   Install two washers (8) and (14), and nuts (6) and (12). (7)   Support bellcrank (2) and bellcrank (1). (8)   Hold  bolts  (5)  and  (11).  Use  open  end wrench. (9)   Torque two nuts (6) and (12) to 175 FOOT- POUNDS. Use torque wrench and socket. (10)   Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do not exceed 200 FOOT-POUNDS. (11)   Install two new cotter pins (4) and (10).
