TM 1-1520-238-23 11-40 11.4. FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM BEARING/BUSHING REPLACEMENT (AVIM) – continued 11.4.6.  Installation (Slip or Pressure Fit Method) CAUTION Do  not  allow  compounds  to  enter  bear- ing(s). Bearing(s) can be damaged. a.   Apply  appropriate  primer  or  sealing  com- pound on mating bore in housing (2). Refer to Table 11-1 notes column. CAUTION Do  not  exceed  maximum  ram  pressure stated in Table 11-1 or housing may be damaged. b.   Install bearing/bushing (1) in housing (2) mat- ing bore while primer or sealing compound is still  wet  (TM 55-1500-322-24).  Install  manually or use arbor press. (1)   Install flange type bearing(s)/bushing(s): (a)   Use ram pressure applied against flange. (b)   Ensure no primer or sealing compound is present under flange. (c)   Ensure  flange  is  fully  seated  against housing surface. (2)   Install sleeve type bearing(s)/bushing(s) until seated or flush with housing surface. (3)   Install  in-line  bearing(s)/bushing(s)  so  that they are alined with one another during instal- lation. GO TO NEXT PAGE M04-4319-2 1 2
