TM 1-1520-238-23 11-38 Change 7 11.4. FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM BEARING/BUSHING REPLACEMENT (AVIM) – continued 14.   Apply sealing compound primer (item 146, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Allow primer to dry 2 HOURS. Apply sealing compound (item 168, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Install bearing/bushing while sealing compound is still wet. 15.   Apply sealing compound primer (item 146, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Allow primer to dry 2 HOURS. Apply sealing compound (item 167, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Install bearing/bushing while sealing compound is still wet. 16.   Apply primer coating (item 147, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Allow primer to  dry  2 HOURS. Apply corrosion preventive compound (item 62, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Install bearing/bushing. 17.   Remove six rivets and two retaining plates from connecting link (TM 1-1500-204-23). After installing bearing install two retaining plates. Install six rivets wet and flush both sides. Use primer coating (item 147, App F) and brush (item 34, App F) (TM 1-1500-204-23). 18.   Apply sealing compound primer (item 146, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Allow primer to dry 2 HOURS. Apply sealing compound (item 165, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Install bearing/bushing while sealing compound is still wet. 19.   Install bearing/bushing 0.000 to 0.002 INCH under surface (TM 55-1500-322-24). 20.   Install bearing/bushing 0.000 to 0.005 INCH under surface (TM 55-1500-322-24). 21.   Apply sealing compound primer (item 146, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Allow primer to dry 2 HOURS. Apply sealing compound (item 170, App F) using brush (item 34, App F) on mating bore. Install bearing/bushing while sealing compound is still wet. 22.   Install bearing/bushing 0.000 to 0.010 INCH under surface (TM 55-1500-322-24). 23.   Staking load 34,000 ±500 pounds (ring stake) (TM 55-1500-322-24). 24.   Breakaway torque on bearing must not exceed 6 INCH-POUNDS after installation. 25.   Stake bearing. Use intermittent retention method (TM 55-1500-322-24). 26.   No primer required. 27.   Breakaway torque on bearing must not exceed 15 INCH-POUNDS after installation. 28.   Breakaway torque on bearing must not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS after installation. 29.   Use 14,000 pounds staking pressure (TM 55-1500-322-24). 30.   Use 30,000 pounds staking pressure (TM 55-1500-322-24). 31.   Use staking tool PN AH64-0010 (figure D-471, App D) (7-311511130 housing/7-211511168 bear- ing). 32.   Use staking tool PN AH64-0011 (figure D-471, App D) (7-311525063 housing/HS4736KR5CWGH bearing). 33.   Use staking tool PN AH64-0012 (figure D-471, App D) (7-311525064 housing/MS14103-12 bear- ing). 34.   Use bearing removal tool – main/tail rotor pitch links (figure D-443, App D). 35.   Use staking tool main/tail rotor pitch links (figure D-451, App D). 36.   Replacement of this bearing/bushing is authorized at AVUM level. 37.   Apply a continuous bead of sealing compound (item 176, App F) to faying surfaces of bushing and support. 38.   Use bearing cutting tool for removal (figure D-477, App D). 39.   Use torque wrench. (item 446, App H). 40.   Breakaway torque on bearing must not exceed 3 INCH-POUNDS after installation. GO TO NEXT PAGE
