TM 1-1520-238-23 10-55 10.12. FORWARD FUEL CELL PILOT VALVE HOSE REPLACEMENT – continued 10.12.3.  Removal CAUTION Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel cell  to  swell,  delaminate,  and  leak  if  al- lowed to contact the fuel cell more than 72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the outside of fuel cells. a.   Remove loop clamps (1), (2), and (3). (1)   Remove nut (4) and washer (5) from screw (6). (2)   Remove screw (6) from clamps (1), (2), and (3). (3)   Remove clamp (3) from pilot valve hose (7). b.   Remove hose (7). (1)   Hold pilot valve nipple (8). Remove hose nut (9) from union (8). (2)   Hold shutoff valve nipple (10). Remove hose nut (11) from nipple (10). 10.12.4.   Cleaning a.   Wipe  removed  and  attaching  parts  with  a clean rag. 10.12.5.   Inspection a.   Inspect  pilot  valve  union  and  shutoff  valve union   for   thread   damage,   cracks,   and rounded wrench flats (para 10.1). b.   Check tube clamps for breaks, cracks, or dis- tortion (para 10.1).
