REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
e. Install retainer (10) on tube (1) and tube (11).
(1) Lubricate two new packings (13). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Place packings (13) on tube (1) and tube (11).
(3) Slide and center coupling (12) over packings
(13).
(4) Position and latch retainer (10) around cou-
pling (12). Ensure that safety spring (22) is
locked.
f. Install retainer (6) on tube (1) and adapter (7).
(1) Lubricate two new packings (9). Use
petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Install packings (9) on tube (1) and adapter
(7).
(3) Slide and center coupling (8) over packings
(9).
(4) Position retainer (6) around coupling (8). En-
sure safety spring (23) is locked.
g. Install tube (1) on bracket (2).
(1) Place clamp (5) over tube (1).
(2) Install screw (3) and washer (4).
