10.10.6. Installation
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Install adapter (7) on pad (18).
(1) Lubricate new packing (21). Use petrolatum
(item 138, App F).
(2) Install packing (21) on pad (18).
(3) Aline adapter (7) with holes in pad (18).
(4) Install six bolts (19) and washers (20).
b. Perform electrical bond check on six bolts
(19) (TM 55-1500-323-24).
(1) Bond shall be 1.0 OHM. Use multimeter.
c. Seal heads of bolts (19). Use sealing compound
(item 175, App F).
d. Install panel (14) on deck (15).
(1) Lubricate 10 new packings with retainer (17).
Use petrolatum (item 138, App F).
(2) Aline panel (14) with holes in deck (15).
(3) Install 10 screws (16) and packings with re-
tainers (17).
