FORWARD FUEL CELL UPPER VENT TUBE AND VENT ADAPTER
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
c. Remove aft retainer (10) from tube (1) and for-
ward fuel cell vent tube (11).
(1) Unlatch and remove retainer (10).
(2) Slide coupling (12) over tube (1).
(3) Remove and discard two packings (13) from
tube (1) and tube (11).
(4) Remove coupling (12) from tube (1).
d. Remove vent tube access panel (14) from
transmission deck (15).
(1) Remove sealer from center of panel (14) and
fillet seal from around panel (14) and deck
(15).
(2) Remove 10 screws (16) and packings with
retainers (17). Discard packings with retain-
ers.
(3) Remove access panel (14).
e. Remove adapter (7) from forward fuel cell
mounting pad (18).
(1) Remove sealant from bolts (19)
(2) Remove six bolts (19) and washers (20).
(3) Remove adapter (7).
(4) Remove and discard packing (21) from pad
(18).
10.10.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
10.10.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dents,
cracks, nicks, and damaged threads (para
10.1).
